PostHeaderIcon How can I get traffic to my new blog?

I just started a new blog and how can I get traffic on it. I need people to sign up and check out my cool adds by google.

PostHeaderIcon What is the best way to get more traffic to your blog?

What is the best advertising site you can pay for to get more traffic to your website. I have a blog with Google ad-sense and I make 15 bucks here and there. I want more traffic to the website, and I’m willing to pay 35 a month to get more people to my blog. What is the best one that has a monthly advertising fee with a guaranteed # of hits or a one time fee with a guaranteed # of hits.

Buying traffic is not as efficient as getting organic search engine traffic.

Here is his Dearl Miller’s Number One tip for sending more traffic to your site – OPTIMIZE YOUR KEYWORDS.

Think about your customers’ needs and use a tool like Google’s keyword tool to find keywords that address your customer needs yet have less competition. You can test out the keywords you choose with an Adword campaign to see the response you get. Dearl stresses figuring out the 20-30 of the best keywords and making sure your site emphasizes them, but don’t overdo it. Just put the keywords in naturally in the titles, articles, tags, and other navigational aids like menus and categories. Dearl says you can’t rely on tricks to get search engines to rank you higher because:

1. Each search engine has a different way of ranking the same pages
2. They keep your ranking methods secret and don’t want you to know

Do:

1. Have unique titles for every page on your site
2. Each title should describe a benefit and how you fulfill what they need
3. Put keywords in your titles, but don’t duplicate them
4. Put keywords in <H1> and <H2> (larger font) text
5. If possible, get a domain name with your keywords embedded in them
6. Put keywords in links in your text
7. Put keywords in your text and make a few of the bold
8. Put keywords near top and bottom of your pages
9. Put keywords in the ALT tag of your images
10. Put keywords in the TITLE attribute of anchor links

Do NOT:

1. Report keywords over and over
2. Hide keywords
3. Use frames
4. Use too much Flash or Javascript
5. Put words in your images

PostHeaderIcon How do you get traffic to your blog?

Do you blog? Do you blog to advertise items you are selling? I am rather new to the blogging world. I mainly blog to advertise products that I am selling and websites that I am selling on. How do I get traffic to my blog? Do I basically just need to add content? Does my blog get picked up in the search? Any advice on blogging is very much needed.
Hello, yes I mention it on my twitter account and also my other web-sites.

You are right that you need to write content, but that is not enough. You also need to do some blog promotion to get some initial visitors. If I were you I would sign up for a twitter account and start using it to promote all new posts.

Commenting on other blogs is also a great way to get visitors, because blog comments normally have a back link to your site.

PostHeaderIcon How Can I improve traffic to my blog how can I make it public accessible?

I prepared a blog(S) and added adsense to the blog(s). Now I want traffic. I recieve hardly 10 page visits a day. Pls tell me the ways to improove the traffic. please donot tell me to add links in other blogs. I tried but no one responded
can I give my blog to the websites which will divert traffic to my blog ?
Those websites will not insist traffic to click over the ads but they will only divert the traffic.
Can I give My blog to those websites?

Create great content. Everything starts with content. Give a reason why visitors will frequent your site. Why will they want to read your blog? Why will they want to spend their time in your blog? Provide value, useful information and other benefits to the readers.

As you have noted, you can’t earn from your blog if the blog does not have traffic. Getting traffic is going to be your biggest challenge.

Here is a comprehensive list of places where you can list your blogs and syndicate its content - Resources for Marketing Your Blogs and RSS Feeds http://www.powerhomebiz.com/onlinemarketing/blogs.htm

Use carnivals, which are a technique for showcasing your blog. Carnivals occur once a week, and you need to submit your blog post to the carnival moderator. Here is a submission form: http://www.conservativecat.com/Ferdy/Carnivals.htm An example of a carnival in action is that of the Carnival of Entrepreneurship hosted by About.com http://entrepreneurs.about.com/od/entrepreneurblogs/a/entrecarnival.htm . Use tags such as http://del.icio.us

You can also expand your ways of monetizing your blog. One of the most common way of earning money from blogs is through advertising and donations. Aside from Adsense, here are some ways you can earn money from your blog:

Chitika eMinimalls http://www.chitika.com
Text link ads - you can sell for fixed price for a fixed period of time
Donation (yes, you can beg)
Affiliate programs such as Commission Junction http://www.cj.com and the Amazon Associates program

PostHeaderIcon Looking to increase Blog Traffic and Visibility?

I’m the author of a fairly popular humor blog called "Mental Poo"

I get roughly 30,000 page loads a month, but want to increase the visibility of the blog as well as attract potential people interested in my writing style and humor (publications, newspapers, dirty magazines, etc.).

Does anyone have any ideas on how to further my narcissism and get me noticed a little more?

My goal is to snag the eye of someone who will offer me a giant writing contract.

Not literally snag their eye, of course.

That would be gross.

Yeah, snagging body parts should be avoided. ;-)

Major traffic-generating methods involve RSS feeds, search engine optimization (SEO), social networks, partnerships and community building. Also, popularity is not just measured in total number of unique page hits or number of followers. You should look for ways to retain readership, beyond a one-time visit. Just visiting and commenting on other blogs helps (popular ones or not). Marketing your blog effectively will take time and effort. Also, it’s not clear what you’ve already done to generate traffic, so you can see these posts for some ideas:

NOTE: Some web sites or forums have guidelines (like Yahoo! Answers) regarding advertising and/or posting external links. Posting against site rules can get you classified as a spammer and/or banned. So, posting your blog link "everywhere" without restriction is not an effective strategy. Again, see the links above for more productive methods.

PostHeaderIcon What is the best way to increase traffic to my blog?

I’ve created my travel blog http://peteryew.blogspot.com for a few months but don’t seen to draw much traffic. I’ve submitted my blog to several search engines, take part in forums, etc. Can you suggest a ‘magic’ formula to improve my blog traffic? Earning ad income is my motivation.

Hi Peter,

There is quite a bit that you can do to increase your blog traffic.

Firstly, you can write a press release and promote your blog that way.

Secondly, you can submit your blog feeds to RSS feed sites for free.

Thirdly, you can promote your new blog on social bookmarking and networking sites including:

Ezine Articles
Buzzle
Wetpaint
Wordpress
Furl
Delicious
Digg
Stumbleupon

You can also create relevant and interesting articles on your blog topics that would drive traffic to your site.

Also I suggest that you join forums relevant to your blog topic and you can drive more traffic to it that way also.

I also recommend using a blog software program that helps you do that also.   It can automate many of the tedious tasks and free up a lot of your time.

PostHeaderIcon How do I get traffic to a blog on blogger?

I need people to find my blog via keywords but I can’t find the Webmaster tool on blogger to do this. Or the Sitemap tab that supposedly exists. And how to do feeds. And I don’t understand how I sign up my blog with search engines. Can someone explain this to a beginner as myself? I’m entering a blog contest partly judged on comments left on the page, so getting the traffic there is important.

Sorry to disappoint you, but getting traffic to a blog is an impossible task, for the simple reason that nobody but friends and familly are interested in YOUR blog, even if it had good contents!
If you reach 100 visitors a month, count yourself VERY lucky!
Ah, of course, if the blog was from M Jackson, THAT would be another thing!…
Edit:
other answerer:
"Try and link to as many similar blogs you can and ask the authors to link to you."
DON’T!!!
Any reciprocal link counts NEGATIVELY with search engines!!!
