PostHeaderIcon 3 Overlooked Tactics to Increase Blog Traffic

Getting more traffic into your money-making blog is one of the most important factors that you have to prioritize. The business isn’t just about making great blogs but it involves getting people to read and become interested in what you have to say.

They go online to find information, and your job is to provide that for them. But you can’t do anything if nobody knows who you are or where your blog is on the internet, which is why traffic is very important.

This idea is now one of the top priorities of internet marketers all around, but most of the time they concentrate on the most common tips in increasing traffic. Here are three of the most overlooked tactics in increasing one’s blog traffic:

1) Implement Search Engine Friendly URLs

URLs of your site or blog posts should not be only Search Engine Friendly (SEF), but also easily understandable for human visitors.

As much as possible, try to avoid the use of “cryptic” URLs with dynamic parameters, such as “YourSite.com/index.php?id=450&node=3$&ref=443″.

Including keywords into the URLs of their specific blog posts will definitely attract online visitors and increase your blog traffic. Here are some good examples:

-YourSite.com/increase-traffic-to-your-mlm-blog.html
-YourSite.com/traffic-formula-for-your-mlm-business/

Another reason why this is more effective than keeping the URLs’ cryptic versions is because search engines will instantly identify your links as more relevant based on the keywords you have inputted in the URL.

Your blog entries’ URLs will be placed at the first few pages of the search engines, eventually increasing blog traffic in just a few days.

2) Link to Other Sites and Blogs

Incoming links from other sites and blogs are the single most important ranking factor for Google, Yahoo and MSN. If you want to get more traffic to your site or blog, getting links from other relevant sites/blogs should be your #1 priority.

To put it simply, if you want to get something, you need to give it first. If you want other blogs and site start linking to yours, give them links first.

But always remember that you can link to other related blogs or post in your niche, but you don’t need to overdo it to the point that it would look like you are spamming.

Lastly, your links are like recommendations, so you have to be careful who you’re recommending.

One great opportunity to share links with other blog writers is a relevant forum. By joining online communities and groups like forums, you can build a strong foundation for your social network and be able to freely exchange links with one another.

3)Tag Your Blog Posts

Tags are basically a way of classifying, categorizing and describing your content and blog posts with keywords. There are two types of tagging that writers would use:

1) Internal tagging, in which your tags link to content within your own blog and it provides the internal linking that is good for Google (and other search engines), plus for your visitors, and

2) External tagging, which refers to tagging on other services such as Technorati, Flickr or del.icio.us. Your tags will link to tagging services like Technorati, Flickr, Del.Icio.Us, which adds extra exposure for your blog from the “outside”.
